What Shanghai Lockdown? It Never Happened! See How Shanghai Officials Shirk Responsibilities.

At an official news conference hosted by the Shanghai government on May 29, 2022, Wu Qing, a member of the Standing Committee of Shanghai Communist Party and Vice Mayor read from a statement saying 'Since there wasn't an official declaration of a city lockdown so there was no lockdown. And there will be no celebration of the end of the lockdown. ... Restoration of normal lives and businesses will be carried out in stages, ... in an orderly fashion. '

The same government document also says as 'the lockdown was carried out by Neighborhood Committees, which were unofficial organizations of local residents, the government was not responsible for their actions. Government has no legal responsibilities for any lockdowns.'

Starting on March 28 and after more than 2 full months, the whole world knows Shanghai's strict lockdown of 25 million people in their apartments was ordered by Xi Jinping, the general secretary of the Chinese Communist Party. His order was executed to the letter by the Shanghai municipal government which is controlled by the CCP. The whole world has learned that Xi firmly believed in using administrative measures such as physical lockdowns to 'dynamically eliminate Covid', or the notorious dynamic zero-Covid policy. Xi promoted his policy based on the theory that the coronavirus can be and has to be elinimated just like in Wuhan. There, he demonstrated the power of the CCP in executing forceful lockdowns to successfully beat the coronavirus, unlike the chaos and confusion that Western democracies experienced in the early days of 2020. Xi claimed victory over gaining control of the Wuhan coronavirus in a Beijing conference about a year ago.

Shanghai's top government official Li Qiang, the CCP secretary of Shanghai and a loyalist to Xi, ordered the senseless and brutal lockdowns regardless of the consequences of people's daily living supplies, patients of other long term ailements, and businesses' demise in the lockdown. Patients suffering from asthma, cancer, or other conditons could not be treated for their ailments and some died. Pregnant women were ordered to wait hours and hours outside of hospitals for taking antigen tests and some suffered miscarriages. Some elderly died from complications of their poor health or lack of food supplies in their apartments.

Shanghai's streets were empty, ports were shut down, delaying shipments to far away countries on the other side of the planet. Yet, there was no lockdown! Li Qiang, the top government official and his underling Wu Qing have created such a clever way of putting the blame on the Neighborhood Committees, not on themselves nor their direct boss, Xi Jinping.

According to Wu Qing, left, a member of the Standing Committee of Shanghai CCP and Vice Mayor at the May 29 news conference, there was no lockdown because the Shanghai government never issued a delcaration of such a lockdown! From Wu Qing's statement people should learn how the CCP really operates.

Such is the way Shanghai officials shirk away from their responsibilities. They are always on the side of being correct. It is typical of the bureaucrats who people have encountered in dealing with the Chinese government. They are never at fault. If someone has to be held responsible, it is not him. It is someone else.
